unicef － unicef とは②

unicef を調べるにあたって、少しHPがわかりにくかったので、禁じ手とも言うべきウィキペディアを利用してみた・・・

さすがはわかりやすい。

まず気になっていた unicef の頭文字（特に i と e はどこから来たか）は

United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund

これが設立当初の正式名称であり（今は　international と emergency は省かれているが）、今でもこの頭文字をとっているらしい。

そして Priority とされている５項目は、

• Child Survival and Development　（子供達の生存と発展）


• Basic Education and Gender Equality　（基本的教育と男女平等）


• Child protection from violence，exploitation and abuse（家庭内暴力や搾取、虐待からの保護）


• HIV/AIDS　（エイズ）


• children, and Policy advocacy and partnerships for children’s rights　（子供達の権利の尊重）

となっている。特に教育やバクシネーション（伝染病などの予防）などに力を注いでいるようである。
